Handla Support

Answers to the questions we get most, and a real person at the other end of the email when they aren’t enough.

Get in touch

Email hello@filibaba.com and we’ll get back to you, usually within a couple of working days. Handla is made by a small team in Sweden, so you’re writing to the people who build the app.

From inside Handla, open Settings and tap Send Feedback. Tell us which iPhone or iPad you’re on, which version of iOS it runs, and what you did just before things went wrong. That’s usually all we need to reproduce a problem.

Handla Premium

What does Premium include?

Lists with more than ten items, as many lists as you like, and unlimited saved recipes. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial, and the price is always shown in the app before you commit.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, so they’re cancelled on your device: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Handla, then Cancel Subscription. You keep Premium until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Cancelling during the free trial means you’re never charged.

How do I get a refund?

Apple handles all payments and is the only one who can issue a refund. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account that made the purchase. Write to us anyway if something went wrong, because we’d like to know.

I paid, but Premium isn’t unlocked

Open Premium in Handla’s Settings and tap Restore Purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. If it still doesn’t unlock, email us and include the receipt Apple sent you.

Does Premium work on my other devices?

Yes, on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Tap Restore Purchase on the second device.

Lists and sharing

How do I share or print a list?

Open the list and tap the share button. Share Shopping List sends the list as text to Messages, Mail or any other app, and Print Shopping List prints it. Sharing sends a copy, so the other person’s changes don’t come back to your list.

Can I share a recipe or a meal plan?

Yes. Choose Share Recipe or Share Plan from its menu and Handla makes a link. Whoever opens it in Handla can add the recipes to one of their own lists. Recipes and whole meal plans can also be printed, with or without photos to save on ink.

Do my lists sync between my devices?

Not at the moment. Your lists stay on the device you made them on.

An item landed in the wrong section

Tap the item to open its details and change its Category. To put the sections in the order of your own store, open the list’s menu, choose Sort Categories and drag them around.

Can I undo checking something off?

Yes. Right after you check items off, an undo button appears at the bottom of the list. Tap it to bring them back.

Recipes

A recipe wouldn’t save from a website

Most sites work, but some hide their recipe behind a login, a paywall or a script that never finishes loading. Try opening the page in Safari and sharing it to Handla from there. If that doesn’t work either, send us the link, because we regularly add support for sites people ask about.

A Reel or TikTok saved without steps

Handla reads the recipe from the post’s caption. A clip with no written instructions gives it little to work with, so edit the saved recipe and add the missing steps yourself.

Where do my recipes go when I add one to a list?

The recipe joins that list’s Meal Plan, at the top of the list, and its ingredients go onto the list itself. Tap the recipe in the Meal Plan to cook from it, and mark it as cooked when you’re done.

Widgets and cooking mode

How do I add a widget?

Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose Handla. Touch and hold a placed widget and tap Edit Widget to pick which list it shows.

Hands-free cooking doesn’t hear me

Hands-free mode needs the microphone and speech recognition, and hand gestures need the camera. If you said no when Handla asked, turn them back on in the Settings app under Privacy & Security. Recognition runs on your device.

Your data

Where are my lists stored?

On your device. There’s no Handla account and nothing for us to log you in to. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves your device and when.
