What Handla stores, what it sends, and what it never touches.
Your lists, recipes and settings are stored on your device. There’s no Handla account, so there’s nothing for us to log you in to.
Handla collects no usage statistics, shows no ads and uses no advertising identifiers. Something leaves your device only when you ask for it: saving a recipe from a link, sharing a list, a recipe or a meal plan, or subscribing to Premium. Each is described below.
Everything you create in Handla lives on your device: your lists and their items, the recipes you save or write, your meal plans and your settings. It isn’t uploaded to us, and we can’t see it.
When you save a recipe from a website, Handla fetches that page itself and reads the recipe out of it on your device. The site sees a request, as it would from any browser.
Saving an Instagram Reel or a TikTok goes through our own server at media.plantry.app, which fetches the post and passes back its video and caption. We send that server the link you shared and nothing about you. The finished recipe is stored on your device.
When you share a list, Handla hands its text to the app you pick, such as Messages or Mail; nothing goes through us. When you share a recipe or a meal plan as a link, Handla uploads that recipe or plan, with its photos, to our server at recipe.handlagrocerylist.app so the link has something to show. Anyone with the link can open it. Nothing else from your device is sent, and the upload doesn’t carry your name or Apple Account. Write to us if you want a shared link taken down.
Handla asks for these only when you turn on hands-free cooking, and you can refuse and still use everything else.
Camera. Watches for a raised hand so you can turn the page while cooking. Gesture detection runs entirely on your device, and the frames are never stored or uploaded.
Microphone and speech recognition. Listens for short commands such as “next step”. Recognition runs on your device. The audio isn’t stored and isn’t uploaded.
Handla Premium is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your card details, your billing address or your Apple Account. To check whether a subscription is active, Handla uses RevenueCat, which receives your purchase receipt and a random identifier that isn’t linked to your name or email. Refunds are Apple’s to issue, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
If you write to us, we keep your message and your address so we can reply and follow up if the same problem comes back. We don’t add you to a mailing list and we don’t pass your address on.
The complete list: Apple, for the App Store and payments; RevenueCat, for checking subscriptions; and the websites and social platforms you choose to save a recipe from. There are no advertising networks, no data brokers and no tracking pixels. We don’t sell, rent or trade personal information, and we never have.
Handla isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct or erase it, and complain to your data protection authority. The answer is usually short, because almost everything Handla knows about you never leaves your device. Email hello@filibaba.com and we’ll answer.

These terms apply when you use Handla, made by Filibaba AB in Sweden. By using the app you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
Handla Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown in the app. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Your use of the app is also covered by Apple’s standard licence agreement.
Handla is a grocery list and recipe app, not a medical service, and nothing in it is medical advice. Check ingredients for allergies and intolerances yourself, and talk to your doctor before changing your diet. Nutrition and climate information may not be accurate or complete, and Filibaba AB isn’t responsible for harm that comes from relying on it.
The lists and recipes you write are yours. Recipes you save from elsewhere still belong to their authors. Handla, its design, illustrations, trademarks and included recipes belong to Filibaba AB or its licensors, and using the app gives you no right to reuse them.
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll post the new version here and change the date below. If you keep using Handla after that, you accept the new terms.
